AA fonts on Redhat 8

Post by fawad »

Hi,
I've got a problem with the way AA fonts are working on Redhat 8. Basically, I've got a pretty small monitor, so I don't need AA fonts, but when I disable AA in the apps that do use it (KDE, GNOME 2), the system seems to fall back on to bitmap fonts instead of using the TTF fonts that are available. The same fonts look perfectly fine on the apps that don't support AA (Mozilla, gaim etc.). Thus, I'm stuck with either using blurry fonts or very jagged fonts when AA is disabled. The fonts used to work fine with Debian woody.

Do you guys have any idea how I can use my plain ole' ttf fonts without antialiasing on KDE?
