i am not sure that i m right but hotmail and mail yahoo is using https means secure http. and its port 443 squid doesnt have to do anything with it. kindly use masquerade

Sorrry for the late reply.
actually, the problem is :
you have to use the smtp of the provider from you are getting internet services. call them and provide them your client's email and request them to relay this address on their smtp server.
simple!

Dear,
First of all who is your service provider? your clients should use your provider's smtp instead of WOL if its different. make sure their e-mail addresses are allowed to relay their mails on SMTP server.

tell him to use WOL smtp instead of you :)
might be you are spoofing him and wants to trace his mails which can be a real privacy risk :)

make sure for few more things :

1 - chown your cache directory to the user squid runs.
2 - make sure your firewall is allowing your local lan clients to connect to the machine on port 3128 or whatsoever.
3 - squid is running???

I would obviously recommend Tiny Sofa or Start Com Enterprise Server.
*BSD is my prefered choise obviously.

Everyone have different choices. no one can claims for any distro that it is only best distro.
