I got them from the States. They are the 3 cd's which are available for free Download on the Mandrake site. the first two are the installation cd's while the third is the international cd. I have those 3, plus one which has all the linux howto's. (many hundreds i haven't seen most of them yet),
Also Acrobat, Flash, MS Truetype fonts and some Redhat 8 updates.

For the PLUC cd database I can send a copy of these 4 cd's.
Send me an address and I'll mail or have them dropped off.

I was wondering if anyone has Redhat 9 here.

Assalamualaikum,

Thank you.

As far as the redhat 9 is concerned, no body on PLUC showed any sign that they have it. But I hope it would be available in the Rainbow Center in the coming week InshAllah.

Mandrake 9.1 is a lot better then Mandrake 9.0.
I only tried 9.0 for a half hour and settled on Redhat 8.0 which was better, and i've been using that for some months now. The fonts in Mdk 9.1 are a lot better than Rh 8. That enough is a good enough reason to upgrade.

If you're using either Mandrake 9 or Redhat 8, then their newer versions is an essential upgrade as both gnome and kde have had significant updates. Redhat 8 and Mdk 9 are both slower then Mdk 9.1, and the fonts are also a lot better in Mdk 9.1.
For a new user, Mdk 9.1 is a lot easier to use than 9.0.
Essentially its a major upgrade, despite the .1 increment. Its not all there yet, OpenOffice still takes an hour to loadup, and Mozilla also is pretty slow. I'm comparing this to Office and IE on the same pc.
But it seems that by the next release of either mdk or rh i'll be able to recommend it to non-techy people...
