yes you can change from ufs to diskd.
It works best on only FreeBSD not for linux.
For linux aufs is best.

it says diskd works on freebsd and linux, but aufs provides better performance on linux. it does not say that diskd does not perform better than ufs on linux, which is what newbie said.

please do something about your reading comprehension problem.

let me put it in another form:

Code: Select all

henrik says

os performance
linux aufs > diskd > ufs
*bsd diskd > ufs

newbie says

os performance
linux aufs > ufs > diskd
*bsd diskd > ufs
now, you keep pasting stuff about henrik and his "aufs of linux, diskd on *bsd", but nowhere does henrik say that diskd is a bad idea on linux, which is what newbie said.

by clearly missing the point (repeatedly), yes, you invited a response. whether or not you wanted one is irrelevant.

no one, not a single person has claimed that aufs is a bad idea. no one has claimed that people should use diskd on linux. and yet, you posted twice about aufs on linux and diskd on freebsd. this isn't about whether diskd is better than ufs, this is about newbie's claim that diskd is not better than ufs on linux. i've said that at least twice now. is that really so difficult to understand?

dont you ?
please remind me. what did i say about diskd five years ago?
Mr fareed
perhaps you meant someone else? that's not my name.

you are mistaken.
who cam to xess net for configuration squid onfreebsd and you were clamming that diskd is good for freebsd
really? i claimed that diskd was better on freebsd 4.x than on redhat 7.2 or whatever people used at the time? are you sure i didn't say freebsd 4.x was better for network servers than linux at the time?

either way, that does not change the fact that newbie claims that diskd is worse than ufs on linux.
you are talking about 5 year ago i was in 10th that time
how is that in any way relevant?

funny, for someone who goes around misspelling "henrik" and other names, you sure are upset when someone misspells yours.
and i am not wrong you are fareed nawaz
for the last time, that is not my name. all it takes is one click on the right link(s) on this page to tell you that.
and you know me personaly :) Asim Bukhari is my cousin
i have no idea who asim bukhari is.
