Need C programmers for project

Postby asimbaig » Wed Apr 16, 2003 9:08 pm

I would like to hire 1 (possibly 2) developers to work on a prototyping project. It is 100% telecommute coding project, meaning that all coding will be done online from your home/office. Its primarily coding a C "system application" in a Linux environment. The application is about 50% complete and needs a more work to be finished.

Skills required:

1. Proficiency in C programming
2. Linux Shell environment and GNU development tools
3. Bash shell scripting
4. Familiarity with Embedded Linux (LILO, booting, ramdisk etc)

All development and communication between the team will take place on-line. The development and testing machines are Redhat 7.3/8.0 servers and are connected to the internet using high-speed connection. You will be logging in to the development and test machines using SSH.

The development environment consists of:

1. Bash shell accessed via SSH
2. Vi, Emacs or your favorite text editor
3. gcc compiler
4. gdb debugger
5. cvs for version control

Current plan is to engage 2 developers working 20-30 hours a week for 3 months to deliver version 1.0 of the product.

Please email resume along with a brief introduction, short description of past projects and salary requirements. I am open to suggestions on payment arrangements. Hourly rate, project based, or salaried compensation.
