Advice needed on Development Tool

Advice needed on Development Tool

We have the following structure

Data Base Server: Oracle 9i on Windows 2000 Standard Server
Application Server: Sun Linux
Client Machines: Windows XP
Proxy Server: Sun Linux

Our application should be available online as well as on intranet and WAN. Some additional hardware like bar code readers will also be used to get input.


The question is: What language or tool should be used for development? PHP? C++ or any other?

Aslam-o-Aliakum,

QT Designer is good for development, when u have Linux & Alien OS combination
if u find anything which shows my lack of knowledge,
please guide me... thx
