read-only file system how to confirm

Hi / Asalamualikum,

is there any command to confirm if file system is currently mounted as read-only.

file system as per system configuration should be read-write but it is currently giving error message

rm: cannot remove `test': Read-only file system

but i am able to create file with the command

touch test with the same user id

any idea ?
