Asterisk & SIPx??

Post by sevensins »

AOA,
I would like install a VOIP solution for my coorporate office setup which would include around 230 LAN connected users and around 50 remote users via internet..

WHat I need to know is;

1. Would asterisk PBX be the solution?
2. If yes then what platform (Ubuntu, RH FC2.3.4.5? etc etc) would be stable for it.

3. What dependencies would be required?
4. WIll a SIP proxy be required and if yes in which case and which one?
5. WIll I need any additional hardware cause I would like to use soft phones?

Any help / suggestions would be much appreciated..

Well how much calls load would u have

Asterisk is the solution for U
wht u mean is there are 250 internal extension and 50 external extensions

U can use softphone and hardphones both with asterisk
u will need live ip for asterisk
a good p4 1gb ram would do as basically the load is when u use compression g729 etc.

if u wanna setup this ure self u need quiet some time as asterisk is lik building a house i hope u hav exp with Voip
Linux is FUn

VOIP using SIP and H323 is illegal. PTCL doesnt allow any such VOIP on their links. You have to have call centre or LDI license to have SIP and H323 link working through PTCL.
