Post by Misam Shah »

AOA All,

Can any please help me out in recovering the /home folder data
I re-installed the machine after formatting the drives. I am using Ubuntu 6.06. Waiting for a prompt reply to resolve.

From what I can understand from your description, you have to specify the partition's mount point as /home during the installation.

AOA Saad,

Thanks alot for the reply but sorry couldn't get you.

What I did I re-installed an Ubuntu machine, and after completing all the work I looked for my previous data  which I thought that I've taken its backup; but unfortunately I forgot to backup my /home folder data and formatted all the partitions

The most important /home folder contained some very critical data of mine. :(

Now can you or any one tell me how to RECOVER in this situation??

Best Regards,
Misam Shah

Isn't it amazing how so many people can type "linuxpakistan.net" into their browsers but not "google.com"?
