squid timeout
squid timeout
salam...
plz. tell me what i have done wrong..i had installed redhat linux 7.3 with squid running on port 3128 and allowed all for net access.
i m on lan one nic etho is connected to my lan gateway. my ip is 192.168.0.6 the second nic eth1 ip is 192.168.1.1 is connected to my 2 pc with ip 192.168.1.2 and 192.168.1.3 .
when i try to browse i get connection timeout error page doesnot open but error page shows me squid stable version ,that means squid running perfectly. i dont get web pages on my 2 pcs aswell on my pc with 2 nic which is ruuning squid...........?

Check for two things. First, you don't have dns servers specified in squid.conf using the dns_nameservers directive. Squid should use the ones mentioned in /etc/resolv.conf.
Secondly, check the the resolver ips in resolv.conf. Are they reachable? do they resolve properly? Say your dns ip is 192.168.1.100 for example. You can test it as
dig www.yahoo.com @192.168.1.100
That should return you the results. Reachability is a must in this case.
