squid timeout

salam...
plz. tell me what i have done wrong..i had installed redhat linux 7.3 with squid running on port 3128 and allowed all for net access.
i m on lan one nic etho is connected to my lan gateway. my ip is 192.168.0.6 the second nic eth1 ip is 192.168.1.1 is connected to my 2 pc with ip 192.168.1.2 and 192.168.1.3 .
when i try to browse i get connection timeout error page doesnot open but error page shows me squid stable version ,that means squid running perfectly. i dont get web pages on my 2 pcs aswell on my pc with 2 nic which is ruuning squid...........?
plz reply soon..thz in advance.............. 8)

please send us the result of these comands

1. route -n
2. dig
3. ifconfig -a

its probbaly u are not connected to internet i think but not sure
so lemme know about it whts ur system statuse

well i checked it it is ok my network is working perfectly..only problem is no page is opening...now i m getting this error NO DNS RECORD FOUND and NO DNS in cache.......?
now what dns i have to give to my 2 clients pc according to my scenario.......? :!:

Provide following dns to your clients.

202.63.192.12
202.63.192.13

thx pal ... :D i will try this...but could u tell me y u give this specific dns ip ..is it general internet dns server ip... :!: :?:

thx ..agian i figured out its ur isp dns ip that mean i can give my isp dns ip to resolve this issue too..........right... :wink:

Mr. linux freak.......... :D
well i just uncomment http_port 3128 and added http_access allow all
just below the line http_access deny all.
the rest of the configuration is default...........ok

Check for two things. First, you don't have dns servers specified in squid.conf using the dns_nameservers directive. Squid should use the ones mentioned in /etc/resolv.conf.

Secondly, check the the resolver ips in resolv.conf. Are they reachable? do they resolve properly? Say your dns ip is 192.168.1.100 for example. You can test it as


dig www.yahoo.com @192.168.1.100

That should return you the results. Reachability is a must in this case.

well in resolv.conf file my isp ip is shown ..but i cant dig ..there is no reachability..i get dns record not found...? : :(

Check your fiurewall.

# iptables -F
# iptables -t nat -F
# iptables -X
