First: Try KNOPPIX live CD. If you really like it install it using install script. Second: Try Fedora. Third: If you want some real insights then use Slackware. Which distro - for a newbie?

Hi, I am new to linux and am planning to get my hands dirty with it :) I have got a Toshiba Tecro 810 with 20GB hard disk and 256MB RAM. I have windows XP on one partition and have 10GB spare. Please let me know which distro to go for that won't be too hard to start of with and can also help in gett...
