You must close any application that is accessing the /mnt/usb directory. For example if you have a file manager window showing this directory's contents then umount command will not work until you close the window.

Can you advise where 8Dbi antenna should be mounted?
At what height? I assume mounting it outdoors would not be possible as it is not weatherproof.

you should run vncpasswd after starting vncserver on your linux machine. When U connect from windows this password will need to be given.

But you will only get TVM desktop. For full access to your KDE or Gnome desktop see this:

No need to update bios. Use kernal boot option in your Grub/Lilo

Try

apm=power_off

If that also only halts the machine then try:

apm=realmode_power_off

See this http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linu ... topts.html

My experience with internal modems: 1. US robotics. Forget about it. Simply doesn't work. Take it out of computer. use as frisbee. 2. Intel/Ambient. Works ok. See http://www.linmodems.org 3. Conexant. Works but only at 14.4kbps. You have to purchase driver for 56k from Linuxant. Avoid this. 4. Smart...
